How the Prizes & Shmivaways Work

At ChapterMint, we believe celebrating indie authors should go beyond a single moment. Our goal is to support winners in a way that creates steady visibility, genuine connection, and long-term momentum. Here’s how we do that.

Supporting Our Winners

To directly support our top three books, ChapterMint will purchase copies of each winning title:

  • 1st Place: 10 copies
  • 2nd Place: 5 copies
  • 3rd Place: 3 copies

Books will be purchased either through Amazon or directly from the author, whichever option best supports them.

What Happens to the Books

Rather than stopping at the awards announcement, we use the books we purchase to host shmivaways (TikTok-friendly giveaways) throughout the year. This allows winning books to continue popping up in front of new readers, creating ongoing discovery instead of a one-time spotlight.

Shmivaway Hosting

We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with the amazing MommaD (click here to follow her on TikTok), who will help us host and promote these shmivaways across social media. Together, we’ll be sharing winning books with readers all year long and keeping the celebration going.

Shmivaway Schedule

To give each winning book consistent attention, shmivaways are spread out across the year. This helps maintain momentum and keeps indie stories circulating well beyond voting season.
